Guava crumble

1 kg of guavas

100 g sugar

200 ml water

100 g flour

50 g sugar

40 g frozen butter, flaked

Peel and cut guavas in half. Scoop out the seeds. Tie guavas in a muslin cloth and boil with 100 g sugar and just enough water to make guavas soft. Remove guavas from muslin cloth and spread in an ovenproof dish. Mix the flour and sugar. Rub the flaked butter in flour by hand till it resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the guavas. Bake at gas mask 1-2 130° C 150° C for 30 minutes or till the top is golden brown, alternatively place under the grill for a few minutes. Remove and let stand for fifteen minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream or cream.
